WHAT THE PROGRAM IS?
The BAFF Alumni Mentorship Program creates opportunities for BAFF alumni from many different industries, with diverse professional backgrounds and experiences, to share and further develop their professional skills as a mentor or a mentee.
Mentoring takes place one on one, with the mentor acting in a non professional, relationship based helping capacity. The mentor supports and encourages the mentee's professional development and provides active guidance to help them reach their goals.
In practice, it is a safe space to talk through career decisions, test ideas, reflect on challenges, and apply lessons learned. The program is powered by the lifelong network of BAFF alumni driving innovation and leadership across the Baltics.
WHO IS IT FOR?
The program is open to BAFF alumni across Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. It is designed for three groups, each with a different development need:
Recent graduates of the Leadership Academy, seeking vocational guidance and support advancing early career prospects
Alumni with less than two years of work experience (Leadership Academy, Professional Internship, Research Scholar), seeking support establishing themselves in a field, industry, or position
Alumni with more than two years of work experience (Professional Internship, Research Scholar, Graduate Scholar, Leadership Academy), seeking support deepening their professional knowledge, network, and know-how’s, or changing their field or industry
Participation is by open application. Mentors apply first, and their profiles are shared with prospective mentees. Mentee applications open shortly afterwards.

PROGRAM FORMAT
Each pair follows a mentoring journey shaped around the mentee's goals. The relationship is built on regular, agreed interaction, with more frequent and longer meetings at the start, easing to a steady rhythm once the relationship is established.
The program opens with a one and a half day in person training covering how to run effective meetings, provide constructive feedback, and stay on track with individual goals. Between meetings, mentees work on the goals and actions agreed with their mentor, returning to discuss progress, examine challenges, and refine their approach.
A mid program check in gives every pair a moment to surface challenges early and adjust their approach. The program concludes with an online closing event to celebrate achievements, recognise mentors, and discuss next steps.
