Junior program

THE BAFF JUNIOR PROGRAM CONNECTS RECENT LEADERSHIP ACADEMY PARTICIPANTS WITH EXPERIENCED BAFF ALUMNI FOR A FOCUSED CAREER CONVERSATION.

Through a one-to-one meeting, younger alumni can learn more about professions, industries, study choices, and different career paths directly from someone with relevant experience. The program is designed to make future decisions feel more informed and manageable while strengthening connections across the BAFF alumni community.

WHO IS IT FOR?

The program brings together two groups:

Junior participants who are completing high school and considering their next steps

Alumni mentors: BAFF alumni who are willing to share their experience of education, work, career changes, and professional life

Junior participants do not need to have a clear career plan. They may join whether they are exploring several possibilities or already have a field in mind and would like a more realistic understanding of it.

Approximately one hour of conversation

MATCHES ARE BASED ON THE JUNIOR PARTICIPANT’S CAREER INTERESTS AND THE ALUMNUS’S EXPERIENCE

A short feedback form is shared after the meeting

Meetings may take place online or in person

Participants receive guidance to help them prepare for a useful and focused conversation

The Alumni Council makes every effort to find a relevant match, although an exact match may not always be possible.

What the Program Offers

Cost shouldn't be what stands between an alum and their next career leap. This grant covers the essentials - so alumni can focus on learning, connecting, and bringing new expertise back to the Baltic region.

JUNIOR PARTICIPANTS CAN

  • Ask questions about education, university choices, and career preparation

  • Hear honest stories about career decisions, changes, and unexpected opportunities

  • Explore topics such as workplace culture, work-life balance, and professional development

  • Gain greater clarity and confidence when planning their next steps

  • Build an early connection within the wider BAFF alumni network

ALUMNI MENTORS CAN

  • Support a younger member of the BAFF community

  • Share lessons they wish they had known earlier

  • Reflect on their own educational and professional journey

  • Strengthen connections across different generations of BAFF alumni

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS?

The Alumni Council then invites BAFF alumni with relevant experience to volunteer as mentors. Once a suitable match is confirmed, both participants receive contact information and practical guidance for the conversation.

The Junior participant and alumni mentor arrange a convenient time to meet online or in person. The meeting is informal and usually lasts about one hour, giving the Junior participant space to ask questions about studies, work, career choices, and professional life.

PROGRAM TIMELINE

Autumn 2026

The Junior Program generally takes place in the autumn following the Leadership Academy.

October - November 2026

Junior participants are invited to register first. BAFF alumni are then invited to review the areas of interest and volunteer as mentors. Matches are usually confirmed in October, with meetings taking place during October and November.
